cool guys never look at explosions

I'm so not good at remembering to blog. A quick little update on what's up with it:

1. I got a job! Or, at least, I think I got a job. I have been recommended for hire at Baker 6th Grade Campus in La Porte! I still have to take my TExES test and sign up for Texas Teachers training seminars, but I'm pretty sure I'm golden. I've been studying. It's tricky. But the review questions have made me SO excited thinking about the kiddos I'm about to meet and all the ways the Lord will challenge me to grow this year :)

2. Umm...before that I went to Greece and London. You'll have to check out my Facebook pictures for details about that. They tell the story better than I ever could. I will summarize and say that I want to travel a LOT, but I want to keep my home where it belongs.

3. I'm really poor. I don't have a paycheck until I start up the school year. I also don't really have the time or resources to find something temporary. It's going to be a very interesting/boring summer of living frugally. Want to know what all I would do if I could afford it? Ok!

If I could, I would go to Sea World, Fiesta Texas and Six Flags. I would go visit friends in Brady, Abilene, DFW and San Antonio. I would spend an immense amount of time hanging out on the beach in Port A. I would go to handfuls of Astros games. I would go to Michigan. I would do a lot of fun stuff. The end.

Today, I am going to go hang out at the public library and spend some time with Jesus. I'm super amazed at how everything seems to be coming together and it is certainly of no doing on my part. I have been thinking a lot lately about the daily decision to give things to the Lord. I'll elaborate more on that at a later date. For now, I am going to go do what I do best: eat Mexican food.

peace and love :)

p.s. let me know if you or anyone you know needs a babysitter...or a lemonade stand that needs tending.

Chronic-WHAT!?-cles of Narnia

So, as promised to a few people that encouraged me to do this, I am blogging. I'm not exactly sure how long it will last, but we'll give it a shot. I'm also not exactly sure if my blog titles will ever have anything to do with what I write about. Just a heads up.

I thought that I'd use my first official entry to write about something I've been thinking a lot about lately. This would be my "big-girl" purchases.
If I ever find a job, that will be great. And with that job, I will have a full-time income, which will also be great. I have made a list of things to buy as soon as possible with my big(ger) paychecks. Here they are thus far in no particular order:

1. A friggin' sweet camera.
2. A modest flat screen TV. I don't need a huge one. But I think flat screens are pretty.
3. This.
I will have so much fun and all of the boys I meet will want to hang out with me.
4. A gym membership. Spinning classes are the best thing since sliced bread. Have you ever taken one? They are super obnoxious at first. The first class I attended made me pissed at the friend that invited me because I was so darn exhausted. Like, really...I was bitter and cold towards her. Not to mention, I will never understand how the instructor is able to yell so much and still do a better job of riding the stationary bike than me. Like THEY don't get tired and want to cry? Bothers me.
But I got over it, and then my butt was tight.
5. This.
Many young women my age are registering for this for their wedding. Yeah...I think I'll have to buy this one on my own. But oh snap, it will be glorious.
6. The complete Jane Austen Masterpiece Theater collection on DVD. I watched these every Sunday night on PBS when I lived in Abilene by myself. Jane Austen and Jesus remind me what every girl deserves.

This is the list so far. I will let you know if anything else comes up. Also, feel free to purchase any of these for me.

I need to come up with a really cool closing for my blogs. Any thoughts?

XOXO
Peace and love

Ehh...it'll come to me.
